Dear subscribers,

i'm sorry - there was an unfortunate mail loop which generated
thousands of emails today.

somehow the email address Majordomo@dbs.uni-hannover.de got subscribed
to the list (i don't understand why that happened - subscription process
requires sending a confirmation email with a special code in the subject).

then some subscriber sent a regular email to the mailing list, and
since majordomo (which is a mailing list robot) was one of the
subscribers, it was replying to this email to the list; which in turn
sent another email to all subscribers, including majordomo, etc -
i.e. there was a mail loop.

i baned the majordomo address, so we will not see email from it coming
into the list.
