So it reencodes *from* koi to MacCyr. Do I need that? I guess not? I
type in MacCyr. On th other hand, since it does not "take any pattern
space" it won't help unabling it either?

Thanks, I will have a deeper look at the readme... I just tried to
turn off all the optional patterns. And that helped! So I at least
know that I can get this to work, if I tweak it a little.
