i don't really think that Basil borrowed the name T2. :) his virtual
fonts can be named like t2r10 etc (which is okay; as long as he does
not distribute the file t2enc.def, there is no T2 encoding known to
LaTeX).

i was talking about some inaccuracies in encoding of the t2r10 virtual
fonts, which did not follow T2A encoding (and thus could not serve as
a valid substitute for if) last time i checked. again, i do not speak
about missing cyrillic glyphs (which may be empty in virtual fonts if
there are no real glyphs in type1 fonts, and which is again
acceptable), -- i only speak about some slots in t2r10 which were
filled with glyphs not compatible with T2A encoding.

i will check the latest t2r10 etc virtual fonts in BaKoMa
distribution, and will report if there are still such
incompatibilities.

(note also that t2r10 virtual fonts are part of BaKoMa TeX and thus
are shareware; the c1fonts are free, and they also use Basil's free
type1 cmcyr fonts available at CTAN:fonts/cyrillic/cmcyr :)
